The San Francisco forty-niners are dealing with a significant blow to their receiver room heading into Week nine against the Raiders. Both Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel are trending away from Sunday's game, leaving Kyle Shanahan with very few options at wideout at a critical point in the season.
Shifting to New England, and the buzz is already building for what could be one of the most electric atmospheres Foxborough has seen in years. Julian Edelman says the stadium will be rocking when Tom Brady calls his first Patriots game this Sunday, with Rob Gronkowski also being inducted into the team's Hall of Fame and the two thousand sixteen Super Bowl squad getting honored on the same afternoon.
And over in Minnesota, the Vikings appear ready to hand Carson Wentz the keys for Monday Night Football. Wentz stepping in under the bright lights is a significant call for a team with real playoff ambitions, and how he performs could define the direction of their entire second half of the season.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
