The most alarming story of the afternoon comes out of Detroit, where Lions linebacker Jack Campbell was carted off Ford Field on a stretcher and backboard after a collision early in the fourth quarter against the Minnesota Vikings. Campbell was motionless on the field following the tackle, and the entire stadium held its breath. No official word yet on his condition, but the image alone was deeply unsettling.
Down in Tallahassee, Florida State has officially cut ties with head coach Mike Norvell after seven seasons and a three and five record this year. Norvell finishes forty one and thirty nine with the Seminoles — a program that expected far more. Director of scouting Rick Stockstill steps in as interim head coach as the Seminoles try to salvage what's left of a painful two thousand twenty six campaign.
And over at Martinsville, Joey Logano turned Sunday's Xfinity five hundred into a demolition derby when his number twenty two Ford made contact with Christopher Bell, who then got punted straight into Denny Hamlin. Both Toyotas went spinning, adding another caution to what was already a chaotic afternoon on the short track.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
