The Kansas City Chiefs are making moves ahead of the trade deadline, and the receiver market is heating up fast. Ian Rapoport has two names on the radar — Jacksonville's Brian Thomas Jr. and Indianapolis's Josh Downs. Thomas has seen his snaps dwindle despite being a former first-rounder, and teams are circling.
Speaking of Downs, the Colts aren't giving him away cheap. ESPN's Rapoport reports Indianapolis is asking for a third-round pick, and multiple AFC teams have expressed interest. The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly among the suitors, which tells you this deal has real legs as the deadline closes in.
Meanwhile, Texas is counting the cost of a dominant performance. The Longhorns rolled Mississippi State thirty-one to three Saturday night, but the injury report coming out of Austin is alarming. Both starting wide receivers Cam Coleman and Ryan Wingo left the game hurt, running back Hollywood Smothers went down too, and two defensive backs also exited. A blowout win that suddenly feels a lot more fragile heading into the stretch run.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
