You're locked in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
Yordan Alvarez is making his case loud and clear before a single official vote is cast. The Houston Astros slugger swept both Players Choice Awards, voted by his peers as the American League's best player. If the AL MVP follows, Alvarez will have earned every syllable of the conversation.
Shifting to Kansas City, the Chiefs have signed kicker Justin Tucker, and that move sends a direct message to Harrison Butker. Tucker hasn't been on an NFL field since two thousand twenty four, suspended ten games following serious misconduct allegations involving over a dozen massage therapists. Kansas City is clearly keeping its options open, and Butker now knows it.
And in Dallas, Jerry Jones is leaving a door wide open for Troy Aikman to come home, this time in a front office capacity. Jones called his former quarterback one of the hardest working people he's ever been around, and said Aikman is quote certainly qualified for a role with the Cowboys. Whether Aikman trades the broadcast booth for a front office chair remains to be seen.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
