You're locked into Sports Desk, let's get into it.
Anton Harrison's season is over before it ever really got started. The Jacksonville Jaguars left tackle underwent surgery that confirmed a torn ACL in his right knee, ending his year entirely. For a Jaguars offensive line already under pressure, losing your starting left tackle is a massive blow to any hope of protecting Trevor Lawrence down the stretch.
Shifting to the hardwood, Purdue's Matt Painter is quietly making everyone else look wasteful. A new ranking of college basketball coaches outperforming their roster budgets has Painter at the top, alongside Alabama's Nate Oats. These two are consistently beating programs spending two and three times their NIL budgets, which raises real questions about whether money is actually winning in college basketball.
And a shadow has fallen over the marathon world. Kenyan superstar Peres Jepchirchir, the Tokyo Olympic gold medalist and reigning world champion, has been provisionally suspended after a positive doping test. She crossed the finish line in Paris just months ago. Now her legacy and her titles face serious scrutiny while the case moves forward.
