You're locked in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
Roger Goodell is putting the NFL's credibility on the line here — the commissioner publicly welcoming an investigation into how the Philadelphia Eagles managed Jalen Hurts' blood clot situation. That's a significant statement, and it signals the league is not going to let this quietly disappear. Medical transparency in football has never mattered more.
Shifting to the ice, Brady Tkachuk is back in Ottawa tonight, and you better believe the atmosphere inside that building is electric. This is his first return since forcing his way out of the Senators organization — a player who wore that jersey, who was the face of that franchise, now skating in as the opposition. Whatever happens on the scoreboard, the emotions in that arena are going to be something else entirely.
And in the NBA, the Miami Heat are building something that looks genuinely dangerous. Giannis Antetokounmpo made the move to South Beach this past summer, and Erik Spoelstra says Bam Adebayo was a massive part of why. Adebayo puts it simply — it's about respect earned through years of competing at the highest level. When your peers want to play alongside you, that says everything about who you are in this league.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
