You're tuned in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
Brian Cashman is staying in the Bronx. The Yankees general manager, who has held the post since nineteen ninety eight, has agreed to a new deal to continue running New York's front office. That's continuity at the top for a franchise that just made another deep October run, and Cashman remains one of the longest-tenured GMs in the game.
Turning to a far more serious situation out of Tennessee, former Titans defensive lineman Jordan Elliott is at the center of a deeply troubling story. A source confirmed to NFL Network that Elliott attempted to retrieve a gun from his car following an altercation with a teammate at practice last week. The incident led to his release, and the league is now monitoring the situation closely.
And in the NBA, LeBron James made his Philadelphia debut look almost effortless. Fourteen points, nine rebounds, and nine assists in a performance that had Sixers fans buzzing. He didn't light up the box score, but his court vision and decision-making in the fourth quarter reminded everyone exactly why this move was made.
