You're tuned in to Sports Desk, let's get after it.
LeBron James made his Philadelphia debut count on opening night, dropping a vintage all-around performance as the seventy-sixers handed the New York Knicks a one hundred six to one hundred loss at Madison Square Garden. The King stuffed the stat sheet and made it look effortless, turning what was supposed to be a celebration into a wake.
And what a night to spoil. The Knicks raised their first championship banner in over half a century, with fans packed into MSG hours before tip-off, the energy outside the building electric all afternoon. Jalen Brunson led New York with twenty-one points, but shot six for nineteen and finished a brutal minus eleven. The defending champs got humbled on their own court the very first night they wore the rings.
Meanwhile, the NFL is dealing with a far more serious situation in Philadelphia. Adam Schefter is pushing back on reports that the Eagles mishandled Jalen Hurts' medical care after blood clots were discovered in his lungs, sidelining him for the remainder of the two thousand twenty-six season. The central question remains why Hurts played in London after doctors had already identified a clot in his calf. This one is not going away.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
