Arch Manning is staring down the biggest test of his young career. After back-to-back losses to Oklahoma and Florida — both unranked at the time — Texas coach Steve Sarkisian is reportedly weighing a benching. Manning stepped to the mic and said simply, he's going to be better, playing with a chip on his shoulder. We'll see if that's enough.
Over in Cleveland, the Guardians are down three games to two against the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Championship Series, and they're leaning hard on one name to keep their season alive. Jose Ramirez has been the heartbeat of this team all year, and the numbers suggest he tends to elevate when everything is on the line. Game six is in Tampa Bay, and the Guardians need him to be exactly that.
And in Dallas, the Cowboys are two and four, and the questions around head coach Brian Schottenheimer are getting louder by the week. Stephen Jones addressed the job status publicly after a flat loss to Green Bay, with Dallas sitting at ten and thirteen under Schottenheimer overall. The answers weren't exactly a ringing endorsement, and that front office tension is very much a live story.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
