The Los Angeles Dodgers are staring down the barrel of elimination after falling into a three-to-nothing hole against the Milwaukee Brewers in the MLB playoffs. The cruel twist? Manager Dave Roberts is one loss away from becoming the only skipper to blow a three-to-nothing series lead, the very kind of comeback he personally engineered as a player back in two thousand four. History is watching.
Across the league, the Dallas Cowboys made waves five weeks ago when Jerry Jones shipped Micah Parsons to Green Bay in exchange for two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark. The deal drew instant praise for Dallas, but now with the Packers thriving, Cowboys fans are eyeing Clark as the one piece they'd snatch right back. Sometimes the return package isn't enough.
And shifting to the coordinators, the NFL's most thankless job is firmly in focus this week as multiple offensive and defensive coordinators find themselves on the hot seat heading into week six. The turnover rate at that level dwarfs even head coaching casualties, and with the playoff picture tightening, patience in front offices is running dangerously thin.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
