Manchester United's Champions League nightmare deepened Tuesday night as Atletico Madrid handed the Red Devils a two-nil defeat in Spain. Lisandro Martinez didn't hold back postgame, delivering a scathing assessment of his own team that has manager Carrick staring down what looks like an endgame scenario at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile in the American League Championship Series, Cleveland is rolling. The Guardians took Game One over Tampa Bay and are back at it Tuesday night looking to go up two-nothing in the series. Game Two lineups are set and Cleveland has all the momentum — the Rays need an answer fast before this thing gets away from them entirely.
And out in Los Angeles, the Rams find themselves in that October spot again — two and three after a wild thirty-seven to thirty-four overtime loss to Buffalo. Sean McVay's squad was a preseason Super Bowl favorite, but this is actually the fourth time in five seasons they've been under five hundred at this stage. History says they bounce back. The schedule says prove it.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
