You're locked in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
Jayden Daniels is suiting up for Washington in Week Five, but not everyone is on board with that call. The Commanders' franchise quarterback returns from an elbow injury, and while the team is clearly eager to get him back under center, multiple NFL doctors are raising red flags about the timeline, calling the decision medically questionable at best.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are already thin in the backfield heading into their matchup with Jacksonville, and now it just got thinner. Running back Will Shipley has been ruled out with a foot injury, putting even more pressure on Philadelphia's offense to find answers on the ground against the Jaguars. Not the injury report you want to see on game day.
On the ice tonight, three games on the NHL slate and every one of them matters. The Flyers take on the Hurricanes, the Canucks roll into Madison Square Garden to face the Rangers, and the Kraken visit Washington to face the Capitals. Lean rosters, early season stakes, and teams still figuring out exactly who they are. Should be a good Sunday night of hockey.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
