You're tuned in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
The Premier League is still processing one of the most seismic verdicts in English football history, and managers are finally speaking out. Michael Carrick says the Manchester City ruling has thrown up a lot of questions, and he's not wrong — City were found guilty on all charges of breaking financial rules across a nine-year period, and the fallout is far from over.
Shifting to the weekend's action, Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Pedro Porro and Mykhailo Mudryk will both miss Tottenham's clash with Manchester United on Saturday. Porro's absence is expected to stretch across multiple matches, while De Zerbi remains uncertain on Mudryk's return timeline — two significant blows for Spurs heading into a fixture they'll want to get right.
And over in the States, Joel Embiid is breaking his silence on a report that had the basketball world buzzing — claims about the big man's tardiness to practice that stirred real controversy around the Sixers. Both Embiid and LeBron James have now publicly pushed back on the story, though the noise around it isn't dying down quietly.
