You're locked in to Sports Desk, let's get after it.
Tony Romo is out and J.J. Watt is in at CBS, and that is not a small move. The network officially announced Friday that Romo will not return as its number one NFL color commentator, with the former Texans defensive end stepping into the top analyst chair. Watt's transition from the field to the booth just got very real, very fast.
Meanwhile, the New England Patriots are walking into Buffalo already shorthanded. Cornerback Christian Gonzalez and defensive tackle Christian Barmore are both out Sunday against a Bills offense that does not slow down for anyone. New England's defense was already going to have its hands full, and now the margin for error just got razor thin.
And in Washington, fantasy managers are scrambling after the Commanders ruled out quarterback Jayden Daniels for Week four against the Colts. The rookie has been one of the most dynamic young signal callers in the league this season, and his absence reshapes everything about how Washington attacks that game. A Week five return is being called reasonable, but that's cold comfort right now.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
