The Boston Red Sox season is over, and veteran first baseman Willson Contreras made sure nobody walked out of that clubhouse quietly. After a nine to two beatdown at the hands of the Yankees, Contreras went straight at manager Chad Tracy, saying talent and data mean nothing without experience. Hard words after a hard exit.
Speaking of hard exits, the Cubs, Red Sox, and Astros all got swept out of the playoffs, and now all three franchises face serious offseason questions. Chicago needs a rotation overhaul, Boston's managerial situation just got louder after Contreras's comments, and Houston has to figure out what this roster actually is anymore. Winter is coming fast for all three.
On the football side, Thursday night football brings some real divisional heat as the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Cleveland to face the Browns, both teams sitting at two and one. Pittsburgh's been efficient, protecting the ball well and grinding out yards on both sides of the ball. Cleveland needs a statement win at home. Huntington Bank Field kicks off at eight fifteen eastern.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
