Cam Schlittler is becoming the Red Sox's worst nightmare. The right-hander delivered another dominant postseason outing, carving through Boston's lineup with the kind of efficiency that makes opposing managers run out of answers. Whatever Schlittler is doing, he is doing it at exactly the right time of year.
Shifting to the hardwood, the New York Knicks are champions. New York closed out the two thousand twenty six NBA Finals, and Isaiah Hartenstein, now in Oklahoma City after the Thunder fell five wins short of back-to-back glory, watched his former teammates celebrate from a distance. Hartenstein already has his ring, and now a whole lot of Knicks have joined him in that club.
And in women's basketball, history was made in the first round of the WNBA playoffs. The Liberty pulled off a stunning upset over the Lynx, becoming just the latest eight seed to knock out a one seed and completely rewire the bracket. It is the kind of result that reminds you why you never skip the first round.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
