The Chicago White Sox are back in the win column when it matters most. Chicago took Game One of the AL Wild Card Series over the Houston Astros six to three, snapping a five-year playoff victory drought dating back to two thousand twenty one. The South Siders looked sharp, controlled, and hungry — and now they've got Houston right where they want them.
Shifting to the ice, the Florida Panthers wasted no time reminding everyone why they're defending champions. Gustav Forsling buried a shot past Brandon Bussi with just four point three seconds left in overtime, giving Florida a one to nothing win over the Carolina Hurricanes in Tuesday's NHL opener. Carolina had just raised their banner — the Panthers answered by raising their sticks.
And in Pittsburgh, the Steelers may be shorthanded in the secondary this week. Defensive back Jalen Ramsey revealed he fractured his wrist during the first series of their Week Three win over the Bengals, gutting it out the entire game with the injury. He was in a brace at practice Monday and his status for Thursday Night Football against the Cleveland Browns remains very much in question.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
