The Las Vegas Raiders pulled off a convincing twenty-six to fourteen road win over the Chargers in Week two, and they did it shorthanded. Star tight end Brock Bowers sat out, and head coach Klint Kubiak is already teasing a potential return, calling his status something to watch closely heading into next week.
The win wasn't without concern though, as rookie running back Ashton Jeanty had a rough afternoon. He carried the ball twenty-one times for just forty-eight yards, added four catches for fifteen more, and at one point limped off to get checked out in the medical tent. He did return, but the Chargers defense clearly had his number.
And speaking of the Chargers, the heat is rising on Justin Herbert, and not just from the Nashville turf that literally melted Eagles players' cleats on Sunday. After another underwhelming showing, the conversation is shifting from "when will Herbert break through" to whether that breakthrough is ever actually coming. Six years into his career, the questions are getting louder and harder to dismiss.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
