**2 Samuel 10:8** โ *"The Ammonites marched out and arrayed themselves for battle at the entrance of the city gate, while the Arameans of Zobah and Rehob and the men of Tob and Maacah were by themselves in the open country."*
Two allied forces. One held the gate; the other held the field. Joab, caught between them, had to divide his army and trust God with the outcome โ *"Be strong, and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The Lord will do what is good in his sight"* (2 Samuel 10:12).
This is the shape of faithful stewardship under pressure: you assess what is before you, you act with the wisdom available, and you release the rest to the Shepherd of all outcomes.
Not every battle arranges itself neatly. Some enemies hold the gate; others wait in the open country.
Walk with what you can see โ and trust the One who sees all of it.
