**2 Chronicles 33:3** โ€” *"For he rebuilt the high places that his father Hezekiah had torn down, and he raised up altars for the Baals and made Asherah poles. And he worshiped and served all the host of heaven."*

Manasseh did not stumble into idolatry โ€” he *rebuilt* it. That word carries weight. He looked at what his father had dismantled and chose, stone by stone, to reconstruct it.

This is the particular danger of inherited freedom. Hezekiah cleared the land through covenant faithfulness. Manasseh inherited that cleared land โ€” and filled it again.

We do the same. A parent prays a household free. A pastor shepherds a congregation toward repentance. And the next generation, untested by the cost of that clearing, rebuilds what was torn down โ€” not out of rebellion, but out of not remembering the price.

Scripture reminds us that what we inherit, we must also *own*.

Walk with that truth today, beloved โ€” and consider what you are building.
