**Jeremiah 14:14** โ€” *"They are prophesying to you a false vision, a worthless divination, the futility and delusion of their own minds."*

God's indictment here is surgical. These were not obvious frauds wearing dark robes โ€” they were recognized voices, standing in familiar places, speaking with confident authority. The danger was precisely their credibility.

Notice what the LORD identifies as the source: *their own minds.* Not malice, necessarily. Not even deliberate deception in every case. Delusion. A mind untethered from divine appointment, mistaking its own convictions for a word from heaven.

The shepherd's task โ€” and the sheep's โ€” is to test every voice against Scripture, not sentiment. Not eloquence. Not the comfort a word brings.

Covenant faithfulness demands discernment, not merely devotion.

Walk with those who point you back to the Word itself, not those who traffic in visions that feel true but bear no divine commission.

*Let the fruit of the word, not the fervor of the voice, be your measure.*
