**Matthew 27:31** โ *"After they had mocked Him, they removed the robe and put His own clothes back on Him. Then they led Him away to crucify Him."*
Notice what happens in this small, easily overlooked detail: they dressed Him back in His own clothes before the cross.
No royal robe. No spectacle. Just the ordinary garments of a Galilean carpenter โ the same clothes He wore walking dusty roads, touching lepers, blessing children.
He went to Calvary as Himself.
There is something deeply pastoral in this. The Son of God did not die in borrowed costume or theatrical disguise. He bore our sin in the fullness of His incarnate humanity โ present, unmasked, wholly given.
Colossians 2:9 reminds us: *"For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form."*
He was not performing sacrifice. He was *becoming* it โ clothed in flesh, walking toward mercy on our behalf.
Let us reflect on what it means to be truly *known* by the One who hid nothing from the cross.
