**2 Kings 24:12** โ€” *"Jehoiachin king of Judah, his mother, his servants, his commanders, and his officials all surrendered to the king of Babylon. So in the eighth year of his reign, the king of Babylon took him captive."*

Notice the list: king, mother, servants, commanders, officials. Surrender rarely comes alone. When a leader yields to what is wrong, those bound to him by covenant and duty are carried into captivity alongside him. Jehoiachin's failure did not stay personal โ€” it became communal.

This is the weight of the shepherd's calling. Those who lead carry others in their decisions, for better or for worse. Ezekiel 34:10 reminds us that God holds shepherds accountable for the flock, not merely for themselves.

Steward your influence with reverence. The people walking close to you are shaped by the direction you choose.

Let us reflect on who walks with us โ€” and where our steps are leading them.
