**Acts 24:17** — *"After several years, then, I returned to Jerusalem to bring alms to my people and to present offerings."*
Paul had been away. Persecuted, shipwrecked, misunderstood — and yet when the season turned, he carried something back with him: provision for others and worship for God. Not empty-handed. Not self-focused.
This is the posture of a faithful steward. The sojourn had a purpose beyond survival. The years abroad had been *gathering* years — so that the return could be a *giving* year.
Consider the shape of your own seasons. Proverbs 3:9 calls us to *"honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops."* And Paul, battered but faithful, lived exactly that — returning to his kindred with open hands.
The covenant life is never merely received. It is carried forward, offered back, pressed into the hands of those who need it most.
