**Daniel 2:9** โ€” *"If you do not tell me the dream, there is only one decree for you. You have conspired to speak before me false and fraudulent words, hoping the situation will change."*

Nebuchadnezzar was not foolish. He knew his court sages would fabricate an interpretation if given the dream first. So he demanded the dream itself โ€” proof that genuine revelation had occurred.

Consider the weight of that moment. The wise men of Babylon had built entire careers on the appearance of wisdom. But appearance and substance are not the same covenant.

Daniel did not panic. He sought mercy from God โ€” *the* God who reveals deep and hidden things (Daniel 2:22). He did not perform. He interceded.

There is a difference between the steward who speaks from encounter with the living God and the one who speaks to preserve his standing.

Walk with that distinction today โ€” it has a way of clarifying everything you are about to say.
