**2 Kings 11:16** โ€” *"So they seized Athaliah as she reached the horses' entrance to the palace grounds, and there she was put to death."*

Six years she ruled through fear, having slaughtered her own grandchildren to secure a throne that was never hers. Six years โ€” while the true heir, young Joash, was hidden in the house of God, tended by faithful hands (2 Kings 11:3).

This is not merely ancient palace intrigue. It is a covenant pattern: usurpers may occupy the throne for a season, but the rightful King is never absent โ€” only concealed, preserved, and moving toward the appointed hour.

What Athaliah could not destroy, God was quietly raising up.

Scripture reminds us that darkness which appears to reign is often simply filling time before the restoration (Romans 8:28). The shepherd who hides the lamb does not abandon it.

Consider the places in your own life where God may be preserving something you assumed was lost.
