**Jeremiah 21:11** โ€” *"Moreover, tell the house of the king of Judah to hear the word of the LORD."*

A king held power over armies, taxation, and the courts of Judah โ€” yet God's first demand was not reform. It was *listening.*

This is the pastoral weight of Jeremiah's commission: before any institution can be corrected, it must be willing to receive correction. The royal house had access to prophets, priests, and the written covenant. What they lacked was the posture of hearing.

Scripture reminds us that authority without attentiveness becomes its own kind of exile. The shepherd who will not hear the voice of the Chief Shepherd wanders โ€” and leads others into wandering with him.

Consider the leaders in your own sphere of stewardship. Consider yourself.

Hearing the word of the LORD is not passive reception โ€” it is an act of covenant faithfulness, the first step toward every other act of obedience.

*Walk with open ears, beloved.*
