**2 Kings 20:6** โ€” *"I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for My sake and for the sake of My servant David."*

Hezekiah wept at death's threshold โ€” and God counted those tears worth answering with a calendar. Fifteen years. Specific. Numbered. Covenantal.

Notice what anchors God's promise here: not Hezekiah's merit alone, but David's faithfulness still echoing across generations. Grace operates on a longer timeline than we can see. The mercy shown to a king in 701 BC was tethered to a shepherd-king who had walked faithfully centuries before.

Scripture reminds us that our covenant God does not forget the faithful. He carries their legacy forward โ€” into rooms we haven't entered yet, toward years we haven't counted.

Consider the weight of that: someone's faithful walk may be sheltering you even now.
