**2 Samuel 7:14** โ€” *"I will be his father, and he will be My son. When he does wrong, I will discipline him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men."*

God spoke these words over David's lineage โ€” and they carry weight that comfort alone cannot hold. This is covenant fatherhood: not distant, not permissive, but *present enough to correct*.

The rod here is not wrath. It is relationship. A Father who disciplines is a Father who has not walked away.

Solomon would fail. Israel would fracture. And yet God remained โ€” not despite the covenant, but *through* it. Discipline was the proof of belonging, not the revocation of it.

Hebrews 12:6 echoes this: *"The Lord disciplines the one He loves."*

Walk with this today โ€” the correction you are enduring may be the very signature of a Father who refuses to let you drift.

Let us reflect on what discipline reveals rather than what it removes.
