**Hebrews 5:6** โ€” *"You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."*

Melchizedek appears in Genesis without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life โ€” and then vanishes. No lineage. No succession. No tomb. The writer of Hebrews reaches back to that ancient figure and declares: *this* is the pattern of Christ's priesthood. Not Aaron's line, which required replacement after replacement as each priest died. Something older. Something unending.

This matters for how we abide in Christ today. Every other mediator between humanity and God was temporary โ€” bound by mortality, by succession, by the limits of the covenant they served. Jesus holds His priesthood permanently, interceding *now*, not as a memory of the cross but as its living advocate.

The covenant you stand in is not maintained by a priest who may falter. It is held by One who cannot.

Let us reflect on what it means to be covered by a priesthood that does not expire.
