**Jeremiah 28:9** โ€” *"As for the prophet who prophesies peace, only if the word of the prophet comes true will the prophet be recognized as one the LORD has truly sent."*

Hananiah had just declared Babylon's yoke broken within two years. The crowd likely cheered. Jeremiah did not.

Scripture reminds us that bold proclamation alone proves nothing. The covenant test was always fulfillment โ€” words measured against reality, over time, in the open.

This is a steward's caution for every voice we trust, including our own. We live in an age of confident declarations โ€” peace here, breakthrough there, blessing guaranteed. Jeremiah's standard cuts through the noise: *does it come to pass?*

Walk with discernment. Honor the slow, patient witness of those whose words have proven true across seasons. And hold your own declarations with humble hands โ€” speaking what Scripture confirms, not what crowds prefer to hear.

Let the fruit of faithfulness testify louder than the fervor of the moment.
