**2 Chronicles 24:8** โ€” *"At the king's command a chest was made and placed outside, at the gate of the house of the LORD."*

A chest. Positioned at the threshold. Visible to every worshiper entering the temple courts.

King Joash did not hide the invitation to give โ€” he made it impossible to miss. Stewardship, here, is not a private arrangement between a believer and their conscience. It is a public act of covenant faithfulness, ordered by leadership, anchored to the house of God.

There is something worth sitting with in that placement: *outside, at the gate.* Before you entered worship, you encountered the call to contribute. Generosity was not the afterthought โ€” it was the doorway.

Scripture reminds us that what we do with resources reveals what we believe about God's provision. Joash understood that the temple could not be restored through good intentions alone.

Consider the chest you have placed โ€” or neglected to place โ€” at the threshold of your own stewardship.
