**1 Samuel 21:5** โ *"David answered, 'Women have indeed been kept from us, as is usual when I set out. And the bodies of the young men are holy even on common missions. How much more so today!'"*
David stood before the priest Ahimelech, hungry and on the run โ yet even in desperation, he reasoned from a posture of holiness. The ordinary mission already demanded consecration. The extraordinary moment demanded even more.
This is not ceremonial formalism. This is David understanding that the covenant life does not pause when circumstances grow difficult. The body โ the whole person โ remains set apart, not by comfort but by calling.
Stewards of God's grace often face the temptation to lower the standard when the pressure rises. David's logic runs the opposite direction: *if holiness mattered then, how much more now.*
Let us reflect on the missions we consider "common" โ and whether we are walking into them with the consecration they deserve.
