**Song of Songs 4:4** โ€” *"Your neck is like the tower of David, built with rows of stones; on it hang a thousand shields, all of them shields of warriors."*

The tower of David wasn't ornamental โ€” it was a fortress wall displaying the captured arms of enemies defeated. Solomon sees in his beloved's bearing something *won*, not merely worn. Her dignity carries the weight of covenant faithfulness, hard-tested and held.

There is a posture that belongs to those who have stood in difficult places and did not bend. Not pride โ€” something deeper. The bearing of one who has been kept.

Scripture reminds us that God adorns His beloved with what He has already overcome on her behalf. The shields aren't hers by birth. They are trophies of grace, hung in love.

Walk with your neck lifted, beloved โ€” not in arrogance, but in the quiet knowledge that the One who built the tower also keeps it.

Let us reflect on what God has already defended in us.
