**2 Chronicles 1:9** โ€” *"Now, O LORD God, let Your promise to my father David be fulfilled. For You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth."*

Solomon stood at the threshold of his reign โ€” not boasting of his own readiness, but anchoring his entire rule in covenant faithfulness. He did not say, *I am capable.* He said, *You promised.*

This is the posture of a true steward: not the confidence of self-sufficiency, but the quiet boldness of one who has read the promises and believes them.

David received the covenant. Solomon inherited the weight of it. And yet โ€” he did not shrink. He brought that weight directly before God and said, *fulfill what You began.*

Scripture reminds us that every calling we carry was first a promise God made before we arrived.

Walk with that today โ€” the promise precedes the burden, and the Shepherd who gave it has not forgotten a word.
