**Genesis 35:26** โ€” *"And the sons of Leah's maidservant Zilpah were Gad and Asher. These are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him in Paddan-aram."*

A genealogical footnote. Easy to pass over.

Yet Scripture preserves every name โ€” Gad, Asher, sons of a maidservant โ€” with the same care given to kings and patriarchs. No lineage is incidental in God's covenant record. Zilpah was not royalty. Her sons were not firstborn. Still, they numbered among the twelve tribes, received land, bore blessing, and shaped the story of an entire nation.

God does not maintain a hierarchy of the remembered and the forgotten. He is the Shepherd who accounts for every sheep โ€” the prominent and the overlooked alike.

Steward that truth today: the person whose name rarely appears in the record of human recognition is fully known, fully held, and fully woven into something larger than any footnote could contain.

Walk with that assurance โ€” it belongs to you.
