**Genesis 41:35** โ€” *"Under the authority of Pharaoh, let them collect all the excess food from these good years, that they may come and lay up the grain to be preserved as food in the cities."*

Joseph did not squander the abundance. He named it, measured it, and stored it โ€” not for hoarding, but for the covenant responsibility of keeping others alive.

This is the steward's calling: to recognize that surplus is not a reward to consume, but a trust to preserve. The good years are given *with* the lean years in view.

Consider the wisdom here โ€” Joseph's faithfulness in administration became the very instrument of salvation for Egypt, for Canaan, and for his own estranged brothers. Stewardship, done well, outlasts the season that produced it.

Walk with that truth today. What abundance โ€” of time, provision, or wisdom โ€” has been placed in your care for a purpose larger than yourself?

Let us reflect on what we have been given to preserve.
