**2 Kings 14:3** โ€” *"He did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, but not as his father David had done. He did everything as his father Joash had done."*

Amaziah passed the test โ€” but only barely. He obeyed enough to be noted, yet his obedience had a ceiling. He looked sideways to Joash rather than upward to David's whole-hearted devotion. Scripture reminds us that partial faithfulness is still a form of limitation we place on God's work in us.

There is a difference between *compliance* and *covenant*. One keeps the rules. The other keeps the relationship.

The steward who manages the vineyard faithfully does more than avoid waste โ€” he tends it with the owner's vision in mind, not merely the last manager's habits.

Consider the benchmark you have quietly adopted for your own walk with God โ€” and whether it was set by the One who called you, or simply inherited from those around you.
