**Mark 15:27** โ€” *"Along with Jesus, they crucified two robbers, one on His right and one on His left."*

Two criminals. One cross between them. And the Son of God positioned at the center of human failure.

This placement was meant as mockery โ€” Rome flanking a condemned man with the worst of society to amplify His shame. Yet Scripture reminds us that Isaiah 53:12 had already declared He would be "numbered with the transgressors." What the soldiers arranged as humiliation, God had ordained as covenant fulfillment.

Consider the mercy embedded in this detail: Jesus did not die surrounded by the righteous. He died surrounded by the guilty. And from that center position, He still extended grace โ€” *"today you will be with me in paradise"* (Luke 23:43).

The cross was not a tragedy interrupted by redemption. It was redemption, precisely placed.

Let us dwell on what it means that He chose to abide โ€” even there โ€” among the broken.
