**Jeremiah 46:15** โ€” *"Why have your warriors been laid low? They cannot stand, for the LORD has thrust them down."*

Egypt's finest soldiers โ€” men trained, armed, and celebrated โ€” collapsed not from superior tactics but from divine withdrawal. Pharaoh's confidence was not in a lie; it was in a real army. The tragedy is that real strength, misplaced from its true Source, becomes the very thing that blinds us to our need for God.

This is the pattern Scripture traces across empires and individual lives alike. The warrior who stands in his own covenant with God walks differently than the one who merely trusts his own capacity. One abides; the other strains.

Jeremiah's oracle to Egypt is also a mirror held up to every soul who has quietly substituted competence for dependence, reputation for surrender, strategy for prayer.

The LORD does not thrust down the humble. He lifts them.

Let us reflect on where we are standing โ€” and in whose strength.
