**Genesis 22:16** โ€” *"By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your only son."*

Notice what anchors this oath: not Abraham's perfection, not his unblemished record โ€” but a single act of unreserved surrender on a mountain in Moriah. God swears *by Himself* because there is no greater name to invoke. The covenant rests on His own character.

This is the weight of divine promise: when God binds Himself to His word, He stakes His very nature on its fulfillment. Abraham's trembling hand raised that knife, and heaven responded with an oath that echoes into eternity โ€” through Isaac, through Israel, through Christ, the Son not withheld for *us* (Romans 8:32).

Stewardship of faith sometimes looks like releasing what we hold most dear, trusting that God's sworn word is a firmer foundation than anything our hands can keep.

Let us reflect on what we are still withholding โ€” and what covenant faithfulness invites us to release.
