**2 Kings 2:5** โ€” *"Do you know that the LORD will take your master away from you today?" "Yes, I know," he replied. "Do not speak of it."*

Elisha already knew. The sons of the prophets at Jericho were not delivering news โ€” they were testing whether grief would loosen his resolve.

It did not.

There is a particular grace in holding sacred knowledge quietly. Not every truth we carry must be rehearsed aloud. Elisha's silence here was not denial โ€” it was stewardship of something too weighty for casual conversation. He was walking toward the hardest moment of his life with open eyes and a closed mouth.

Covenant relationships often require this: the discipline to abide in what God has already revealed, without letting others' anxiety redirect your obedience.

Scripture reminds us that spiritual maturity is sometimes measured not by what we declare, but by what we guard with reverent stillness.

Consider the weight of what God has already shown you โ€” and how you are stewarding it.
