**Deuteronomy 18:8** โ *"They shall eat equal portions, even though he has received money from the sale of his father's estate."*
A Levite arriving from a distant town carried his own history โ inheritance already settled, resources already in hand. Yet God's covenant table made no room for hierarchy at the meal. Equal portions. Full standing. Not because he arrived empty, but because the priesthood itself demanded it.
This is the logic of grace working against human accounting. We tend to measure worthiness by what someone brings โ or doesn't bring. God measures by calling.
Scripture reminds us that belonging to His household is never earned by the poverty of our arrival or diminished by the wealth we already hold. The table is set by the Host, not negotiated by the guests.
Walk with this truth today: your standing before God is not a calculation. It is a covenant. Let us reflect on how we extend that same unearned equity to those seated beside us.
