**Joshua 10:43** โ *"Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal."*
One sentence. No fanfare. After cities fell and kings were defeated, Joshua simply returned to camp.
Gilgal was where Israel had been circumcised, where the reproach of Egypt was rolled away (Joshua 5:9). It was their place of covenant renewal โ and Joshua kept returning there. Not to monuments of his victories, but to the altar of God's faithfulness.
There is something deeply pastoral in this pattern. The warrior-leader did not linger in conquered territory or build his name among the ruins. He brought the whole community back to the place of remembrance.
Scripture reminds us that our greatest victories are not destinations โ they are invitations to return. Return to covenant. Return to worship. Return to the One who gave the victory in the first place.
Walk with the community back to Gilgal, beloved. The camp of grace is always worth returning to.
