**2 John 1:11** โ€” *"Whoever greets such a person shares in his evil deeds."*

John wrote this to a specific congregation sheltering false teachers โ€” men who denied the incarnation of Christ. His warning was not about rudeness; it was about complicity. A warm welcome extended to deception becomes an endorsement of it.

This is covenant faithfulness in action: to love truth is sometimes to refuse the handshake. The shepherd who opens the gate to wolves does not demonstrate mercy โ€” he abandons it.

Discernment, then, is not a posture of coldness. It is a form of stewardship โ€” of the flock, of the household, of the name we bear.

Walk carefully with whom you align yourself publicly. Your association testifies to what you believe is true.

Let us reflect on what our welcome communicates โ€” and whether it honors the One whose name we carry.
