**Amos 9:9** β€” *"For surely I will give the command, and I will shake the house of Israel among all the nations as grain is sifted in a sieve; but not a pebble will reach the ground."*

The sieve is not an instrument of destruction β€” it is an instrument of precision.

When Amos spoke these words, Israel had grown comfortable in her covenant, mistaking God's patience for permission. The shaking was coming. Yet the promise embedded within the judgment is staggering: not one true grain would be lost.

This is the mercy hidden inside discipline. God does not shake His beloved to scatter them β€” He shakes them to *separate* what is chaff from what is covenant.

Hebrews 12:27 echoes this: *"the removing of what can be shaken…so that what cannot be shaken may remain."*

Whatever sifting season you find yourself in, consider the Shepherd's hand holding the sieve.

Walk with that.
