**2 Samuel 6:10** โ€” *"So he was unwilling to move the ark of the LORD to the City of David; instead, he took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite."*

David had just watched Uzzah die for touching the ark. Fear stopped him cold โ€” and so the presence of God rested in an unexpected household instead.

Obed-edom did nothing to earn this. He was a Gittite, a foreigner, a man on the margins of Israel's story. Yet the ark โ€” the very dwelling of God's glory โ€” abided under his roof for three months. And Scripture records he was blessed because of it (2 Samuel 6:11).

Grace has a way of settling where the powerful hesitate.

There is something worth sitting with here: the mercy of God does not wait for the prepared and prominent. It dwells where it is received โ€” quietly, faithfully, without fanfare.

Consider the threshold of your own household today.
