**Isaiah 34:1** — *"Come near, O nations, to listen; pay attention, O peoples. Let the earth hear, and all that fills it, the world and all that springs from it."*

Before Isaiah delivers one of Scripture's most sobering oracles of judgment, God does something striking — He summons every nation as a witness. Not just Israel. Every people. Every tongue.

This is the posture of a sovereign who owes no one an explanation, yet extends the dignity of an audience anyway. The courtroom is open. The gavel has not yet fallen.

There is covenant mercy even in the summons to hear judgment. God does not act in shadows. He calls the nations near before He moves — because a God who speaks before He acts is a God who yearns to be understood, not merely feared.

Walk with that truth today. The same voice calling nations to attention is the voice that calls you, beloved, by name.
