**Matthew 26:33** โ€” *"Even if all fall away on account of You, I never will."*

Peter spoke these words with a full heart and an empty self-awareness. He was not lying โ€” he believed every syllable. That is precisely what makes this moment so searching.

Confidence rooted in our own resolve is a fragile shepherd's staff. It looks solid until the weight of the hour falls upon it. Within hours, Peter would stand at a charcoal fire, and the very voice that declared loyalty would deny the Lord three times โ€” not once, but three times (Matthew 26:75).

Yet the covenant did not end there. Christ, who knew Peter's failure before Peter did (Luke 22:34), still called him. Still restored him. Still commissioned him (John 21:17).

Scripture reminds us that grace does not wait for our consistency โ€” it precedes our collapse.

Consider the distance between your declarations and your dependence on Him today.
