**Numbers 12:12** โ *"Please do not let her be like a stillborn infant whose flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb."*
Moses prays this for Miriam โ his sister, the woman who once watched over him in the reeds of the Nile. She has been struck with leprosy. He could have stepped back. Instead, he intercedes with raw, anguished mercy.
Notice what he does not pray: a measured, dignified petition. He prays *viscerally*, with the image of a child cut off before life could take hold.
Scripture reminds us that intercession is not always composed. Sometimes covenant love compels us to bring our grief before God without polish โ to name the weight of what we fear losing, and trust that He receives it.
Moses had every reason to harbor bitterness. He chose mercy instead.
Consider the person in your life who has wounded you โ and what it might mean to stand in the gap for them still.
